Frequently Asked Questions
CBD is one of the many compounds known as cannabinoids found in cannabis and has grown in popularity recently as people discover its therapeutic effects and good safety profile.
There are more than 100 cannabinoids discovered in the cannabis plant that are being scientifically investigated for their health benefits. Cannabinoids are characterized by their ability to act on cannabinoid receptors that are found throughout the human body.
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is found in mammals and was only recently discovered, but it may hold the key to homeostasis.
The endocannabinoid system is responsible for regulating balance in our entire body from immune response to cell communication, appetite and metabolism, cognitive function, and so much more.
Due to federal regulations, we cannot make claims about whether CBD products can help. We do however recommend everyone to research the widely available information online. You can easily find many resources about CBD products and their possible benefits.
The key difference between CBD and THC is THC causes intoxicating euphoric effects that make you feel high.
THC initiates the physiological response when it reaches the cannabinoid 1 receptors (CB1), found primarily in the brain and the central nervous system.
Conversely, CBD doesn’t bind with CB1 receptors and actually inhibits CB1 agonists (in this case, THC). This means CBD will never get you high regardless of how much is consumed, and also acts to suppress the high caused by THC.
CBD is legal in all 50 states but with many caveats:
CBD is legal across the United States if it is derived from hemp, not marijuana.
If CBD is derived from hemp, it is legal across the United States because of the 2018 Farm Bill’s legalization of this agricultural commodity.
No, there is either zero THC or less than 0.3% THC in these products, so they can not make you "high" in the typical sense... Many of our clients however do experience a body calming effect that get's mistaken for a "high". Unlike THC which is psychoactive, CBD is not and will not get you high.
That depends on what you are looking for! If you are looking to give relief to a specific sore spot, the balm might be best. If you want full body effect and relief, the softgels or the tincture are the way to go. The softgels are more convenient for travel, the tincture is simpler and more convenient for dosing. It is a highly controversial topic and if your job/life depends on it, our answer would be No. Unfortunately at this point, there is not enough science to make definitive statements about this. There have even been cases of people taking 0% THC products and then finding THC in the blood - so there are ideas out there that perhaps having a lot of other cannabinoids (like CBD) in the blood can somehow synthesize THC. This is still uncertain, but our recommendation would be to proceed with caution.
